@Krikket@mindly.social Yeah, on the surface it sounds simple. Under the hood it is a Big Work that involves your brain reprioritizing stuff and relearning a whole shwack of things. Until your brain gets the memo that this time is sacred and the boundary is important, it's not gonna happen with regularity. Something I have found that has helped rewire my brain for this is when I *do* make the time and do the thing, I make sure to pause afterwards and anchor the feeling. I highlight to myself how good it is

  • @Krikket@mindly.social For my brain this anchoring of the good feeling has been instrumental in many of the massive life changes I have made in the last few years. It's so easy to me to skip over the dopamine, so I make a point to pause now. For my brain weasels this really is helpful the next time I'm struggling with the "don't wannas" - I can pull up the memory I made a point of anchoring and be like "But GOOOOOD feels" and that has worked quite well.
