NOTE: This interview was yesterday. Artemis II just reached the halfway point between the earth and the moon 6 hours ago.
So someone explain to me how they could possibly see the dark side of the moon????
OMG could she be getting all excited about seeing the same part of the moon that is not lit up because it's not a full moon that we see from earth all the time??
She's an astronaut, right? Not a celebrity like Bezos' joke of a "spaceflight". Right??

The dark side of the moon is the face that faces away from the earth. The moon rotates on an axis in geosynchronous fashion so that we always see the same features/face. Very few people have seen the dark (far) side of the moon with their own eyes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_side_of_the_Moon
