@franco_vazza@mastodon.social @gleick@mas.to Same! I read 'Chaos' as a teenager and absolutely loved it. I was learning how to code back then, and prompted by the book I wrote a simple program to visualise the logistic map. I remember zooming endlessly into it, mesmerized by the neverending complexity. Can't think of many other science books that impressed young-me the way 'Chaos' did.

@astro_jcm@mastodon.online @gleick@mas.to I also coded it (in IDL!) after discovering Feigenbaum through that book. And soon after that I asked a master thesis project about turbulence in space...after 20+ years I am still investigating it!
