Those at fault are pitiless. Those of us affiliated with their power, (white & American) may feel the harms being caused deeply, but be without definitive recourse. We see them tear down opponents like paper and for all our calling, writing, meeting, marching we are stymied. And this is still nothing at all when compared to the lives we are ending. Mere empathy in these times feels empty. We can sit and cradle our broken hearts, or we can use them as fuel to keep us searching for answers.
