@matt@toot.cafe @jaybird110127@dragonscave.space Of course. Just figured more ways to play would be better, especially seeing as two other 8-bit micro emulators (Zesarux and BeebEm) can handle Z-Machine boot disks just fine, probably because there's no requirement to emulate a screen reader or a speech synthesizer. Also, anyone want to try taking a gander on making an accessible C64 emulator, please and thank you?

@matt@toot.cafe @jaybird110127@dragonscave.space Also, y'all mentioned the GS? Thanks to the Archive, I just found a port of Frotz for it. Frotz version 2.01, requires GS/OS System 6. https://ifarchive.org/if-archive/infocom/interpreters/frotz/FrotzGS.shk Also, a version of Zip, the first third-party Z-Machine for the GS, this time as a self-extracting archive, and no GS/OS requirement: https://ifarchive.org/if-archive/infocom/interpreters/zip/zipgs1.0a1.sea

  • @HunterXWorld@mstdn.social @matt@toot.cafe I wish someone had a modern, console/terminal based Apple IIe emulator with sound. We could play Infocom games just fine if text were just output either to a console window or something that was sent to a screen reader on the host system.
