i have a very specific memory of watching my dad play solitaire on the computer when i was very very young. this was back on 98 or xp, when windows solitaire kept track of the "money" you'd "bet" and "won" in the status at the bottom. i looked at it and thought "it's a good thing money doesn't really go negative". and my dad gave such a wistful "yeah......" that i immediately knew he was keeping something from me
