to be clear the e-stop here actually breaks the machine. forcibly disconnects the redstone block that signals a clutch to allow SU to pass. if someone presses it i have to do manual maintenance (dig under the machine and put the block back where it goes)

if the indicator light stops working for whatever reason the machine also breaks. that wasn't by design though. because of the geometry of the wiring under the machine, i can't actually read the state of the pressure plate. i have a t flip flop that's activated by an observer reading block updates from the light. when you stand on the pressure plate, it turns the light on, and turning the light on starts the machine
