I&#39;d like a phone with free, ungoogled/unappled OS without having to root it. I need to run &quot;Itsme&quot; and other apps that don&#39;t allow tinkering. I know Fairphone, it sounds like a good - albeit pricey - option, but are there any others? #mobile #ungoogled #floss

@kupac@functional.cafe Funnily enough el Reg did a whole article on nonapple/nongoogle fondleslabs (I love that name) https://www.theregister.com/on-prem/2026/05/01/where-to-buy-a-non-apple-non-google-smartphone/5219681 Since I follow (and run) GraphineOS, I would probably avoid Murena as they seem nuts by themselves and are not really that secur. Honestly I think a Pixel (yes, rooting, but the easiest yet) with GraphineOS is pretty close to the best so far (well until the Motorola deal happens). Punkt seems expensive but I guess that is part of the Theema instance they have. Although the one that has me excited is the Furilabs FLX1 as it looks a fun Linux phone (Debian!) that allows the whole Android virtualization.
