@kimschulz@social.data.coop Currently, it seems to me that most Meshtastic people are moving to MeshCore. Have you looked into that? :)

    @CarstenBoll@mstdn.dk yeah but I dont like the licening model that MeshCore has + security and privacy is still a problem. It is just meshtastic with a bit better routing(basically a strict relay model where infrastructure is needed in order to use it). Their whole closed-source client freemium model is not my style.

  • @CarstenBoll@mstdn.dk @kimschulz@social.data.coop the problem with Meshtastic and Meshcore is it is dominated with radio hams (not knocking the hams - they do a good job). Hams won't touch Reticulum because of the encryption issue which is a shame. Reticulum is built for private comms so isn't really in competition with MT/MC. Even though I'm a Reticulum guy I am impressed how the Meshcore community have come together and built a very well connected network. Just a shame they have to deal with so much spam which clogs up bandwidth. And the fact software is behind a paywall.
