@mainec@fromm.social @andrewnez@mastodon.social @joshbressers@infosec.exchange We had a commercial software at work that wasn't working properly when we got a new cluster some years ago. I got access to part of the source after a lot of back and forth. It was way worse than any open source. Old perl scripts and bash obviously written and changed by summer interns (said so in the comments) calling into ancient C code using libs that obviously are not maintained or even available outside this software.
