@DragonBard@dice.camp @WiteWulf@cyberplace.social I suppose the benefits outweigh the disadvantages or stores would stay with low-tech. Or they’ve been oversold on unrealisable specious ‘benefits’?

    @M0CUV@mastodon.radio @DragonBard@dice.camp I can’t believe they’re paying £35 a piece for them in the quantities the big supermarkets would be buying them. There’s obviously a significant cost associated with the whole infrastructure (the displays, management server, comms between the two, training, licensing, maintenance, etc.), but as you say, that must be outweighed by the savings in sending staff out to change the labels, I guess 🤷‍♂️
