@piebob@metasocial.com I don’t think I would know if I hadn’t watched a lot of British TV… I grew up with “anything that holds tea is a teapot, anything that holds coffee is a coffee pot.” Kettle is just not a word I encountered often. Could be a regional thing, I grew up outside of Milwaukee.

    @RangerRick@redwombat.social right, but a kettle doesn't hold tea. i see people referring to kettles as teapots all the time and i don't understand how that is happening. i can understand people not knowing the difference between a teapot and a coffeepot from looking at them (because coffeepots were used similarly to teapots in the past).
