@baillehache_pascal@hachyderm.io It's two overlaid plots of approximate solutions to two orthogonal differential equations (so the curves that are solutions to one equation always intersect the curves that are solutions to the other equation at right angles). The curves are selected at random, but they clump up in various places and that give the images that kind of smudgy worn look, I think.
Everything okay after the earthquake?

@matthewconroy@mathstodon.xyz Actually I was asking if you generated the image with some software or programming language or whatever. Now I'm also curious about what is an orthogonal differential equation. Is that something you build like orthogonal vectors, by replacing x with y and y with -x ? And looking at your image also makes me wonder if that could be the base for coherent noise generation. Take some differential equation, use part of the parameters as seed, and derive on the other ones to calculate the density of the function as the noise value at any given point. Thanks for asking about the earthquake. Everything has been quiet since then fortunately.
