@PeterSoukup@mastodon.social I love Lunduke's "Oh, it's fine, the world isn't going to end" attitude about it. It's clear he hasn't actually read any of the age verification laws coming into effect. The age verification scheme outlined in California's law doesn't just require calculating an age bracket, but also infrastructure to store and transmit that data to whoever requests it. It's going to be a boon to Big Data, nannyware companies, and hackers/scammers while kids aren't really protected at all.
