You hear “but what about the birth rates” any time you talk about basically anything to do with modern America, and because I’m a normal person with a brain that isn’t a blasted wasteland of misery and pain, I suddenly wondered “hey, how much of that comes back to how marital rape as a concept only became a thing made illegal in the US in, like, 1994? Not to mention the long track record of male impunity, especially before birth control was invented.” Grim shit.
