@latenightlinux@mastodon.social is there anyway I can get a transcription, or the podcasts in article format? I can't do podcasts, just as I can do audio books.

@latenightlinux@mastodon.social I’m a bit concerned about "how will my wife, and kids, manage the home IT if/when I’m dead.", and hearing about Gary’s 30-ish ACL rules, I wondered if any of you have plans for this ? I’ve personally started writing some documentation for the hardware I run around the house (AC, swimming pool pump/filters…)… But for the IT, I’m a bit lost on how to have something my family could manage.

@latenightlinux@mastodon.social I think tailscale or wireguard are the obvious choices to get back home. But I'm home more than I'm away and don't necessarily want tailscale on all the time. I have my lan pihole resolve the tailscale fun name to a lan IP on the local network. No tailscale traffic needed. When away, I turn on tailscale to get back. It wouldn't work for mobile DNS, but does great for "services" like linkwarden, forgejo, etc without the large file transfer slowness on lan.
