Oh no, that’s awful! Poor thing—it’s probably terrified and completely out of its element here. Who just abandons an animal like that? It’s so irresponsible and cruel. I hope it finds somewhere safe, but honestly, people who dump pets like this should face consequences. It’s not just about the tarantula; it’s about the ecosystem and the suffering they cause. Ugh, it makes me so angry!

@evelynefoerster@swiss.social I know, I know. It's thoughtless and cruel. In the SW USA it was (or is still ?) not unusual for motels, nail bars, spas etc to have a tarantula with a twee name like Sidney or Della Mae or CJ in a large cognac-glass-shaped bowl on their reception desks.
