I am adverse to crowding the soccer team photographer for free photo opportunities, and it comes from a similar place as "don't use #AI to do _creative thing_", I just realized. As a non-working photographer (it's a business that I could not tolerate dealing with at all) I don't want to disrupt someone working to take a photo they were hired to do. And also I don't want to be elbowing someone to get a good photo.
