@davedarko@chaos.social @geerlingguy@mastodon.social IIRC Linus from LTT commented they were using AI voices in one of their channels because it is cheaper than having a human to voice (including the editing costs, since you need to edit retakes and mistakes) and that channel has getting so few views it wasn't generating too much profit. That said, LTT aside, it's clear that any channel using AI voice is to cut costs. While it's great when people use scripts for their videos (@TechConnectify@mas.to made a great video on that), if people are cutting costs using AI voices, it's pretty much certain they used LLMs to write the scripts too.
