@CorvidCrone@kolektiva.social So perhaps I'm missing point but will read more but change scent of soap is a lot different to massive metal or energy intensive material. (Also much less sold with is perhaps also a main point - as if people bought those as regular then #pimpmyride (TV series modding old cars) would be what soap mightbe for wheelchairs (soap vs. wheelchair was always a bit of a bad comparison in my eyes) but I get your point a bit... not enough to change manufacture limits though.

@collective_truth@mastodon.social The point is that consumer culture prioritizes style for items abled people use daily, and de-prioritizes style in necessities for disabled people - things people have to look at or interact with every day. It contributes to feelings of being overlooked and unvalued. It others people because it assumes that the majority of people will not become disabled, when that is just not true. If you live long enough, you will outlive your body's ability. It's a byproduct of a culture that used to have ugly laws and hide the disabled away in homes or asylums.
