Do we need to label everything?
Living in Europe, my first contact to solarpunk/hopepunk was when publishers promoted it already as a marketing label aka genre for certain books. Working with books, I knew that these labels were only trends, made for better profit.
I was quickly astonished that I found more fanfiction and texts with that big patronising, even preaching tone instead of being real literature.
At that time I learnt that it was also a movement,

@alxd@writing.exchange @foundseed@spore.social and books only one part. But in my country you don't find solarpunk communities. So-called eco-communities can be even far-right people, even with solar panels. And others, really practicizing solarpunk, did completely normal stuff that needed no label before. They were interested in ecology, climate crisis, and change. One point in that essay, the anthropocentrism, was also my problem. So many texts were nice fiction but I wouldn't like to live in such a world because of that
