@amici@fribygda.no That is actually an interesting question. @foundseed@spore.social describes Solarpunk as if it _should_ be a political movement. I don't consider it one, but it's also not not one. In the very manifestos it says that art is activism. Its art needs to be political, even just to properly express its values. All I personally want is a language to talk about communities, infrastructure, open source and disaster preparedness. I don't know if it's doable without being political.

@alxd@writing.exchange @amici@fribygda.no did you misunderstand the thesis of my essay? Solarpunk wants to be a movement but it isn't. I don't think it should try, but it already has been. I explain why it isn't a movement by holding it to the standards of a movement, because I believe it to be potentially harmful if taken seriously as a political movement.

Making conscious decisions about what you put into your art does not make it "politics" in my book. At least this way of using the term washes out the meaning of actual politics, which is always done in groups and as an organized activity. A writer making a short story is not engaged politics, not directly at least. Even when they intend to affect politics
