@alxd@writing.exchange @foundseed@spore.social Also - in what way has solarpunk ever been a political movement? Because I feel like it isn't and neither should it be, because that would confuse the creative, speculative, and highly personal project of making art with the real, serious, and messy act of solving concrete real world problems. I want solarpunk to help inspire us, not to direct us, and I want politics to be serious, not speculative. In this way these things should be considered separate projects.

@amici@fribygda.no That is actually an interesting question. @foundseed@spore.social describes Solarpunk as if it _should_ be a political movement. I don't consider it one, but it's also not not one. In the very manifestos it says that art is activism. Its art needs to be political, even just to properly express its values. All I personally want is a language to talk about communities, infrastructure, open source and disaster preparedness. I don't know if it's doable without being political.

@amici@fribygda.no @alxd@writing.exchange that's cool and I agree with you but I listed two concrete examples of solarpunk praxis, and my extensive time inside solarpunk space means I have read all the breathless think pieces, some of which I linked, that describe solarpunk as "more than just a genre".
