the only reason we think fish can't speak is because fish abide by a system of mutual exclusion that prevents more than one fish in the sea from talking at the same time, also known as the global interpreter lock (GIL).

@typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt You have reminded me ofHumans-B-Gone! where the description of insectoid language. They speak in clouds of pheromones basically saying a whole paragraph at a time. The air then needs time to clear before the next paragraph is spoken.
