@jjcelery@mastodon.ie Well, this was my first year growing them on the balcony. I put beneficial mites on them to eat the thrip larvae. Then, when I brought them inside, a bunch of gnats hatched. But I didn't buy more beneficial mites. Instead, I sprinkled some anti-gnat pesticide. That must have killed the good mites. So, then the bad mites took over. I will never do that again. I will buy the beneficial mites that eat strawberry mites and two spotted mites. I didn't check under the microscope which one it was because I was exhausted at that point.

    @LizzieSpeaks@lor.sh oh I wasn't judging! I haven't the faintest idea how to grow strawberries - alas I only know how to devour them. But I know from transplanting exotic plants, which I've had some success in, that you get about 30% success rate and anyone who gets better than that is a wizard and/or a witch ☺️
