  @paranoiapen@mas.to Her point is not that it's impossible to write in those circumstances, but rather that it affects how you write and makes it harder. She talks about how Jane Austen never had a study to write in and had to hide her writing when people came in. And she speculates about how Shakespeare's sister, had she existed and had equal talents, would never have been afforded the same support and opportunities that he had and likely would have died in obscurity.
