(4/x) My father-in-law spent basically his whole life searching for his roots.
(His early-childhood odyssee including being evacuated from war-struck Berlin as a two-weeks-old not even mentioned; this alone could, and propably will, fill a whole book).
So now here I am, basically without any genealogy experience, trying to give an old man some kind of peace. All we have is this set of pictures with the name "Edward J. Garth" on it.

(5/x) Addition: Of course, Edward may also have been from another country like UK, AUS or NZ. I'm kind of US-biased here because my father-in-law often heard his mother's relatives saying "Edward the American". Also, Wiesbaden was a center of US activities after WWII, afaik.
