we live in a housing trust place - it's old and has many structural problems but it's always been a safe haven for us in an uncertain world. I don't know how we would have survived without it.

@cheryanne@aus.social @HardBeingGreen@theblower.au I used to rent a government house too in the early 1980s. Rent was adjusted according to income. By the time we moved out we were paying full market rent. It was our safe haven too when our kids were babies and only one of us was working. I think that the lack of government housing for young families is one of the major factors in the intergenerational equality issue.
