The latest Discord outage makes us wish there was something like IRC but with native support for link embeds.
Ain't nobody gonna click a link without an embed preview in 2026, at least in a large community, out of fear it could be gore or a screamer prank or whatever.

@rinmari@urusai.social Honestly yeah it's the main feature I want on another chat platform, first thing. Even if it's just to share stupid memes from twitter, that I plundered off some other chat room because I don't go to twitter anymore.
