I'm a Western leftist, and neither of these positions represent me. I do know people who are represented by one or the other, but I don't know anyone who is both. Are you sure you're not just conflating the loudest voices as being from the same people?

Do you support Cuba, the PRC, DPRK, Vietnam, Laos, Venezuela, Nicaragua, former USSR, etc but not Luigi? What do you mean you aren't represented by either?

It might be my biased sample from the people I interact with IRL (I live in Spain) and on the internet, but out of all self-declared leftists and progressives, a vast majority support Luigi and use slogans like "eat the rich" while repelling any repression from Actually Existing Socialist states.
