@cy Veterinary clinics have had an extremely hard time retaining and recruiting staff since the emergence of COVID. Clients can be extremely rude and it's frequently a high stress environment u, and it's hard to thrive in a situation like that. We've seen multiple vet clinics close in the last five years. It's a bad situation.

@VisualStuart@pdx.social @cy Or maybe it's the corporatization of veterinary practices, where the staff is let go in favour of cheaper labour, who is squeezed for "performance" which is defined as draining the pockets of clients to return profit to the corporation.

The problem was the next receptionist said she was a no-show and tried to charge her for it. Just having staffing problems wasn't an issue.
