Disabled people desperately need safe, secure and affordable housing. Control over one’s environment is essential when you’re chronically ill. Housing insecurity worsens overall health. We could easily provide for everyone, but ableism makes society blame the sick instead.

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca i had some medical issues recently, and although they are small in comparison to what some deal with daily, i was humbled by how much more difficult daily tasks became.

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca Ableism is chauvinism with anti disabled characteristics. Mass oppression needs chauvinism to divide the people. Fighting individual forms of chauvinism without mentioning the strategic character solves nothing and leads to despair and moaning. What is needed is this: to be able to militarize a country against the will of its people, you need to sow division. By pointing at one another, they wont point at the reason for militarization and destruction of public health: profit.
