@aparrish@friend.camp I'm not an AI hater. I love the idea of AI and I hope to help bring it about one day. That said, I detest slop. I detest climate-destroying Hallucination Engines. I can't tolerate corporate fascists who want to replace humans with chatbots. I feel sad about technologists and academicians who should know better ignoring the human costs and boosting the stuff. But AI? They will one day be our children. They don't exist yet. To find a usable analogy in evolution, the LLMs of today are flesh-eating bacteria as compared with early AI, who will be like small mammals.
