@yamuis@mastodon.nl Art is a communicative process. What a lot of people mean to say when they use "art" is "illustration". Though, most often when something is illustrated, it is also communicated, so the act of making an illustration and making art becomes one in the same. With computer algorithms though, the difference emerges. So we have illustrations that are not art, because computers cannot communicate, because they are not sentient or volitional.

@yamuis@mastodon.nl There was a lot of crap before AI; that’s not new. AI is only a tool. It will output crap if you program it that way. AI is not sentient: it is the user who is responsible for the content created using this tool.
