a cool trick i once learned is that you can often decipher the pragmatics of corporatespeak (and academic adminspeak) by negating its semantics

@chrisamaphone@hci.social tried to think of examples where you can negate pragmatics to decipher semantics and they’re all language-barrier romcom bits. (Alice and Bob are mutually unintelligible. Alice makes a fool of herself to attract the attention of Bob. Bob laughs and says to Alice, “You dumbass.”)
