@antongorlin@mastodon.art @alexskunz@mas.to Nice IR image, Alexander! I've thought about converting my old Sony a7r to IR. Might be fun to play around with? But I've noticed, using masks in post, I can replicate the IR look, but that, of course, is not the real thing. And, like you, I can see playing with it for a bit and then thinking, that was fun but never using the camera again. 🥱

@elaterite@mastoart.social hmmmm, you can't quite replicate tonality of IR — it does exceptionally well in high contrast situations because very little IR light is in the blue of the sky for example, while foliage on the other hand reflects a lot of it. If you have the camera and don't have any other use for it, professional conversions aren't *that* expensive, and it's great if you like black & white, strong contrasts, and making photos in direct sunlight. @antongorlin@mastodon.art
