@erici The benefit/loss arithmetic on moderation outcomes is mostly positive I think. Having a civil exchange of ideas is a two-way street, by definition. If somebody gets blocked, "blame" is *always* shared. If somebody blocks/defederates you, you were never going to reach them with your viewpoint in the first place, at least not the way you phrased it. If you block/defederate somebody, it's your right, you get to weigh the loss of blocking vs. burden of staying open. This is good. @MagnusWJ@mastodon.social

@hakona@im.alstadheim.no Yes blocking is no problem, block away. The problem is that the sysops of the big servers have too much power. It reminds me of student politics... The stakes are so low, yet there is so much drama..
