@dieweltist@bunt.social if it were possible to train an LLM entirely locally or in such a way that the contents of the LLM are entirely inspectable and editable. And it was practically possible to run on a machine that people could reasonably have at home then I'll consider it not a problem from a free software ethics point of view. If the only PRACTICAL way for people to access the capability is by renting access to proprietary software on someone else's computer then it is not empowerment

You will pay consumer prices for power, most models aren't technically "legal", and there also is a difference between "using LLMs for generation" vs "vibe coding" (which runs them in a loop).
