@afilina@phpc.social Right but we were talking about two different variables: - whether it _was_ correctly identifying who had used Copilot (it wasn't) - supposing it _did_ correctly identify that someone had used it, whether it ought to be auto-tagging their material (which @raven667@hachyderm.io was advocating for). From what I read, I think this route still wouldn't auto-tag if someone used a different LLM and pasted in the results. It's not like a "try to tell from the style" detector. It was supposed to work by seeing directly if the person had just run the thing through #Copilot.

    @unchartedworlds@scicomm.xyz @raven667@hachyderm.io I personally don't think that a tool should do anything unless we explicitly ask it. If someone wants to auto-tag, then they can turn that setting on. Then if it does tag incorrectly, it's just a bug like any other.
