From what I could see in Flightradar they were FIFO flights coming into Perth from the far North, but swinging far to the South before making an approach on runway 03 or 06. They did not appear to start descent until well South of Perth.

@rdm@aus.social When I read FIFO from your toot, then I thought Bussleton also seemed a possibility.
