@CliftonR@wandering.shop It doesn't help that I think that's a thing that changed in the last couple years? (Maybe longer, what is time anymore?) As I know that when I first started using Masto/Fedi full time, the ability to edit/add alt text after posting wasn't a thing. I remember when it changed, even if I don't remember where in the linear timeline it occurred.
So it's possible part of the reason you didn't realize is originally you couldn't, depending on how long you've been on Fedi.

@deathkitten@firetribe.org I've been on several years now. (4 years maybe since my Twitter flight? Time flies.) I had also thought I remembered that one couldn't, but decided to try it anyway. When it worked, to my surprise, that's why I thought to share it. Good to know that I probably wasn't just misremembering.
