On boycotts and how long they should last.
I remember beig a small kid and hearing about my first boycott on a family trip to Georgia.
My Dad said we would not stop for any reason in South Carolina until they took the Confederate battle flag out their state flag.
So we kids had to get all our food, bathroom time and entertainment in North Carolina before we crossed the state line.
Not a single green dollar was to be spent or even tempted to be spent until that confederate flag came down.

That was the early 90s. It annoyed me to no end. How do you tell a southern kid of the 90s that there was an ENTIRE state just full of waffle houses right off the freeway that I wasn't allowed to go to? In my little kid angst I realized that my Dad must really mean business. That sometimes there must be things more important than trash waffles and fried food.
