That was the early 90s.
It annoyed me to no end.
How do you tell a southern kid of the 90s that there was an ENTIRE state just full of waffle houses right off the freeway that I wasn't allowed to go to?
In my little kid angst I realized that my Dad must really mean business. That sometimes there must be things more important than trash waffles and fried food.

That dirty old battle flag didn't come down until 2015! South cackalacky took their sweet time taking that shit down. And until that crap came down we never spent a dime in that state.
