@madduci@mastodon.social I once had a Nokia whose battery died. That's "died" as in wouldn't hold its charge for even a week any more, died after about four days. It had a replaceable battery. But original Nokia replacement batteries were no longer sold, and the only option was a no-name Chinese rip-off. Which ... guess what ... didn't hold its charge any better than the one I was replacing and died after about four days. So unless this comes with a law requiring full spec replacement batteries to be manufactured for as long as anyone wants to buy one it's likely to be of limited use. "At least five years" (from the article) looks like bollocks to me, as the original won't have died that quickly.
