@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social - I have a friend who has one that has never borne fruit. This one (in contrast with his) has a very restricted root run that I think accounts for the difference. Stewed in blackcurrant juice sounds wonderful!

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot Yes, the roots must be constricted. Ours is about 25-30 years old planted in a paving slab box filled with rubble. I occasionally try to hack it back but it fights back every time! It's huge and produces more fruit than we know what to do with!
