My solution in the same situation is to use Gnome. I strongly prefer KDE on a desktop/laptop, but Gnome is an outstanding tablet UI and KDE isn’t… except that Gnome’s onscreen keyboard is crap.

My touchscreen is pretty spanky, might be because i have a surface 9 or might be me using garuda an arch derivative. Newer kde and kernel. In what way is the touchscreen lacking?

What do you mean by lacking? I think QML apps are meant to be designed to work on touchscreens but whole pre-QML apps prioritize a mouse+keyboard interface I’d be curious as to how that sucks for touchscreens?
