Managers believe AI is magic and can do the jobs of the people they manage, but have no idea how to make it do that, so need workers to constantly supervise and fix the output of a machine doing a worse job at the work that was already being done. All that has really been achieved is another layer of wealth extraction has been added by people who do nothing but make a number go up. Capitalism, y'all.
