@samueljohnson@mstdn.social There is always that problem, I agree. And no, I haven’t seen them. But there is a roost in a big cedar nearby, and the timing is right, and The Squeeze says she heard them the previous day.
I’ve got much better mics, but then would need to record separately and feed the audio to the analyzer and frankly I’m not that bothered.

@etp@indieweb.social Ah, if they're around it's probably right. What mic are you using? I don't just have the odd curlew, the place is overrun with them! The playback, in general -- all birds, is so faint I'm surprised anything is recognized.
