@markcooper@mastodon.online @bodhipaksa@mastodon.scot Exactly. Especially for those of us who tried to fight this fight for the last 30+ years. And during that time, the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere has increased, year after year, with only a small decline when covid hit. There is no reason to expect that it will decline any time in the near future. That's not being a doomer, or an alarmist, it's being realistic. I found it hard to have hope back in the early 90's, but I desperately clung to it, believing that people would wake and make changes. But now, we are locked in to the next 20-30 years, no matter WHAT we do. I don't think a lot of people realize, or admit that. I would rather focus on acceptance and adaptation rather than try to prevent what is unpreventable at this point.
