@bodhipaksa@mastodon.scot you make a great point, one that I think is completely overlooked, because we are considered "doomers" or "alarmists" for daring to even suggest such things.
Fact is, we are realists - most people are just deluded, and as a result of a decades long propaganda campaign by the fossil fuel companies.

@perpetualmystic@universeodon.com @bodhipaksa@mastodon.scot I see it pretty much the same way. People say that there’s still time if we take drastic action now. That is a very large IF. It ignores the very real possibility that we will continue to do basically nothing. I don’t know why it’s so taboo to predict that we will fail this test. On our current trajectory it seems irrational to believe otherwise. Maybe it’s an extension of our cultural reluctance to acknowledge mortality and failure.
